Trust Pilot needs a paid tier between free and $1k+/ year for small businesses. I would happily pay a small fee for my small business but the first paid tier is just too expensive as a percentage of revenue. They get really fussy about sharing your rating on your own site as well. Seems like it is a ploy to get you to upgrade to a paid tier. Going to explore other options, including paid options, to see if I find something with better service and value for my business, in a paid tier.

Honestly, the worst app ever. Can't customize the email so it looks like it is associated with my brand or give it a premium look and feel. It feels like trustpilot wants to be the arbitrator of reviews so you have very little control of how your brand is represented in these emails. Also if a customer does not reply to your review request you can't follow up. Trustpilot controls this process way too much. They also randomly remove reviews with no explanation.

You are a review platform not the God of reviews. Get off your high horse. How ironic that truspilot has a 2 star rating.

The new Trustpilot Shopify app itself is ok - setup is straightforward and the Business review side works.

The product review widgets are another matter. They are completely outdated: the widget renders as a window inside the page instead of being embedded into the site, review images are small and open blurred on mobile, and review dates are not shown at all - which is a real problem for products with a long lifecycle.

I have submitted detailed, constructive feedback several times over the past 1.5 years. It gets acknowledged, and then nothing happens. Not a single meaningful update to the product review widgets in that time, despite improvements being promised.

For a subscription at this price point, that is not acceptable. Competing review apps at a fraction of the cost solve all of the above out of the box.
